Business Development Manager – Food Ingredients 

Office based – South East 

Competitive base salary + Bonus

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a global ingredients supplier that are turning over in excess of £25m. They pride themselves in the careful selection of partnerships they now have in over 30 countries. They supply food ingredients and ready to eat ingredients into the Retail, Foodservice and Food Manufacturing channels. They also have international offices across Europe and Asia and due to a consistent growth in excess of 10% YoY they are now looking to increase their sales team in line with their long-term strategy and growth plans. This commercial opportunity will report directly into the Director of the business.

It is important that you have some experience working in the Food Ingredients industry, seeds and pulses would be a large advantage, however there will be a 3-month training and development plan.

Main Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for driving and identifying B2B sales with Bakery Manufacturer/Retail/End User
  • To use a more consultative approach and qualify the needs of the customer
  • Work closely and communicate other members of the team
  • Forecasting and financial management, including reporting 

Must have’s :

  • It is highly preferred that you are degree educated
  • Strong background in food and/or ingredients
  • Longevity in previous job roles
  • A hungry, tenacious attitude
  • The want to learn and grow with a fantastic business

The right candidate for this role will have worked in a sales role in the food industry, selling into B2B or Manufacturers for over 3 years and have a clear knowledge of how the sales process works from start to finish. They are looking for someone who is passionate about sales, can identify what the client’s requirements are and use a consultative approach rather than a hard sell.
