Senior Export Manager

Senior Export Sales Manager – Wine

Location: Italy

Salary: DOE + Bonus + Travel

My client is a renowned Italian sparkling wine producer located near Venice with over 100 years history of producing award winning products. With a rich heritage and a commitment to quality, they have established a strong presence in the global wine market. They are seeking an experienced Export Manager to lead their expansion efforts across all of Europe excluding Italy and DACH.

As the Export Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the sales and distribution strategy for the business in European markets. Reporting directly to the Head of International Sales, you will be responsible for distributor management, achieving sales targets, and ensuring profitability in the assigned region.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Distributor Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with distributors across Europe.
  2. Collaborate closely to ensure effective market penetration and brand visibility.
  3. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to drive growth in the assigned markets. Identify new business opportunities, negotiate agreements, and monitor market trends to stay ahead of the competition.
  4. Take ownership of the profit and loss for the assigned region. Implement cost-effective strategies, manage pricing structures, and optimize sales performance to meet financial targets.
  5. Work collaboratively with the trade marketing team to develop and execute promotional activities that enhance brand visibility. Coordinate with the customer service team to ensure exceptional client satisfaction and manage logistics efficiently.
  6. Conduct regular market analysis to identify opportunities, assess competitor activities, and stay informed about industry trends. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in international sales and export management, preferably in the wine or beverage industry.
  • Strong understanding of the European wine market.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to develop and execute effective sales plans.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on achieving and exceeding targets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in Italian; knowledge of additional European languages is advantageous.
