The Company are one of the largest producers of food, with their UK office based in Cambridgeshire, they operate with more than 10 sites and supply into the UK retail, wholesale and catering markets.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to manage and be responsible for the day to day management of the technical requirements for the company and their customer base here in the UK.
The Role:
- As Technical manager you will play a vital role with the UK customers and liaise with the site technical managers reporting into the UK GM
- A proven and experienced person with a qualified food technology and science background.
- Broad understanding of all technical issues likely to encounter and requirements to be met including Food safety, Food micro organisms such as TVC’s, Enterobacteriaceae, E Coli etc.
- To set up and monitor specific strategic and focussed projects as and when required, ranging from shelf life trials in the UK to agricultural farm projects.
- The ability to read and interpret all results in line with specifications.
- An organised individual, capable of working on their own having both strong written and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Liaise with customers on BRC, audits, traceability and general supply chain queries.
- Managing customer web portals covering product specifications, reviews and sign offs.
- Manage customer complaints both chilled and frozen, visit site if required. Raise, investigate, collate details for overseas and report back to customer on findings.
- Claim credits as required from overseas
- Maintain up to date records on Sedex, Qadex, TQC, Integra and Food Connected.
- Monitor data temp loggers on chilled consignments as and when required.
- Maintain records for all AIS x-ray analysis for both bone detection and CL reports.
- Manage all technical queries, including specification, micro and agricultural / welfare standards.
- Attend customer review meetings both on and off site.
